Bonsai's latest misuse of power is to change the structure of the Federal Senate, cutting the number of committees and ensuring those remaining are chaired exclusively by coalition members.
Greens leader Bob Brown said the changes would mean all committees would be "controlled from the Prime Minister's office". "If they don't like witnesses, they won't appear," he said. "The parliament is being sidelined by executive power."
