Oh Brother

I thought the commercialisation of christianity had reached its bounds. How naive of me.

Americans (naturally) in the southern bible belt have introduced Ultimate Christian Wrestling.

Pastor Curtis Parker says that the wrestling tournaments have added more members to his congregation than previous soul purchase attempts:

"We have given away cars as an outreach initiative. We have given away 10,000 pounds

[4.5 tonnes] of groceries from a truck in our parking lot"

The wrestlers with names like Gods Property and Damien Synn draw correlations between themselves and Daniel who wrestled with an Angel. They also claim they are:

'More violent than secular wrestlers cause we don't feel it like they do'

Maybe the drum pair should have taken up wrestling...

Shouldn't it tell you something if you have to PAY people to come to your church lol....mind you in the bible belt they wouldn't care ;-)

Dunno if it's about commercialisation though...i think it may be an attempt at "fitting in" or appearing "cool" or "normal". Sorry, but PATHETIC!
